Author: Brian Ma (color01) Very sticky tire. Thanks to the treaded design they have more absolute traction than the 6 degree slicks, but I felt that breakaway characteristics were slightly more abrupt. If you keep this tire within its traction envelope you can change the front end setup for lots more steering.
Tire wear is [understandably] faster than the slicks; after a few hours the outer edge of the tread is beginning to show wear.
The sidewall on these treaded tires is thicker and stiffer than those of the 6 degree slicks, so surprisingly these tires don't absolutely HAVE to be glued to be useful (they still perform better glued though).
One last note, the set I received did not have an even tire profile -- the outer edges are raised vs. the center rib of the tread. It will take some more tire wear before I finally get the tire to sit flat on the track. This may limit the tire's useful life in a race situation.
