For less than $5, this is absolutely the best bang-for-the-buck you can buy for your 2WD Mini-Z's, drivetrain. Although the only difference in these pinions is the shape of the gear teeth, they drastically improve the feel and performance of the car.

These pinions will practically render your 2WD Mini-Z silent; I installed the 10t to a PN Stock motor, and could only hear my motor when driving on the track! But aside from the noise level, these pinions seem to magically free up the drivetrain. My car can roll much farther off-throttle with these pinions than with any others. What's more, tooth for tooth, there is a marked increase in top speed and a slight increase in acceleration compared to other pinion sets. This means that you can gear down in Mod class to keep your motor cool, and gear up in Stock for more speed on the straight -- both important advantages in those respective classes.

These pinions are made of slightly softer than normal plastic; while they are far more durable than the 64-pitch gear set (and are equally as smooth, quiet and efficient), they last MUCH longer, almost as long as standard 2WD pinions do. You'll have to adjust the gear mesh a bit more frequently as the pinion wears to maintain the best mesh and performance, but it's definitely worth the time whether you are a competitive racer or not.

And at this price, I would even recommend these pinions to non-racers: with more efficiency comes longer runtimes, so you can enjoy your Mini-Z for a longer time per charge too!
