Author: Brian Ma (color01) A great-looking, great-handling body. Despite the high-offset rims required it feels fairly nimble in the technical sections, and absolutely stable in sweepers and straights.
The clear windshield is a nice touch for aesthetics. Evidently it serves a functional purpose as well by allowing the signals from certain lap-timing system transponders to pass through (an issue with other, solid-white-only pan car bodies).
Overall, the body is very strong, but the front clip area is notoriously weak. I've made stress marks in the plastic just by hitting a few apexes the wrong way. The solution to this is to heavily reinforce the front end either with plastic stock and glue, or just a strong glue that dries like plastic.
In addition, the square front end of the body makes it prone to catching on the rails. Shaving off the two front corners will reduce this tendency but you can only do so much.
Other than the aforementioned issues, the VDSII is an excellent body and very easy to drive fast on any track. Highly recommended!
