Author: Brian Ma (color01) An impressive and comprehensive damper system. The included disks are not the smoothest out of the box, and it takes a little bit of sanding to get the damper portion to function smoothly. Once that effort is spent, however, it performs very well and really stabilizes the car whether you're in a turning, accelerating or braking situation. Because of the low height of the damper assembly it's usually necessary to use stiffer damper springs.
The three plastic shocks, though slightly overkilll, are so good for fine-tuning your car's handling characteristics. Their primary use would be to adjust tweak and preload; since the threaded spring perches are infinitely adjustable you can accurately adjust both to your liking, without messy shims and spacers. Atomic says to use MR02 springs on these shocks but MR02 or MA010 springs both work fine. (Smaller-ID MR02 springs may catch on the spring perches so be wary.) The included balls are reasonably smooth and I didn't notice any difference from switching to metal balls.
You may need to grind the center/top shock a little shorter as I found that I had barely any suspension travel when I first installed this damper system.
The only other downside is weight, but with this much adjustability I would consider it a more-than-fair tradeoff. If you can afford the price (and the excessive bling that it gives your Mini-Z) then by all means it is a great damper system.
