Author: Falken GT-R The Mini-96 is a great track that allows you to have a great road course with many different layouts that will fit in a small space. Its great for beginners and seasoned drivers, it helps you sharpen your driving skills because of the smaller width.

Author: Spoon I agree with everything that Falken said in the previous review.
The Mini-96 is probably one of the best hopups you can get for your Z's. If you are serious about improving your driving skill and you are even remotely thinking of picking up a Mini-96, just do it. You definitely won't regret it.
One warning though...If you are used to driving on a Wide tile track once you spend the 2 hours to get the track assembled you may be frustrated at first. When I first started driving on it, I thought I would have to sell the track because I wouldn't be able to drive on it. After about 20 minutes, it gets better. After a while you are actually able to drive some pretty good lines.
If you want to stay motivated and really test you progress I would recommend some type of lap counting system. I think most will agree that CORE is the best but if you want something that is a little less than $700, you can build a cheap 1 car lap timing system with the link below:

One more thing...this track is really best suited for stock cars. I can get my F1 around without too much trouble and my stock MR02 and AWD are no problem either, but, I have a 2x2 fetted MR02 and it's basically useless on this track. I can never get it going fast enough to really test out suspension setups.

Author: Matt Taylor Once again...I also agree with the other reviews on this site. This is a great deal on a compact track if you are limited on space. Track layouts are many, and you will soon find yourself trying to open up the track and use as much of your available space as possible. I have found both Stage 1 AND Stage 2 XMODS motors to work well on this track. The key is using a Stage 2 gearing (higher than stock) that allows the car to coast more when you get off the throttle. With the stock gearing, my XMODS come to a near stop when you get off the throttle and you need that speed to get through the tight turns of the MINI-96. The extra power of the STAGE 2 motor allows you to throttle through the back half of a turn and slide the rear-end of the car through the turn. I have found this to be the best method for getting an XMOD around the MINI-96 at near full speed. You may also want to glue your tires and rims together because, due to the narrow lanes, you will find yourself in the wall often, and this tends to pull the tires off the rims. For this reason, I would not reccomend an open-wheeled car (INDY, Formula 1) on this track. If you have a nice, rounded body, such as the G-35 or Mclaren, you can use the rails to your advantage by bouncing the car off the on-coming rail while sliding sideways through a turn. Not sure about AWD as I have not tried it yet. I would also plan on getting the Expansion Kits for this track if you have the space.

Author: Rod Great track - the perfect surface for all Kyosho mini-z RC cars. I once had three mini-96 tracks and expansion pieces, and made a fun track in my 3 car garage. Needless to say the wife kicked it out and we had to build it in our yard. I have an 8000 sq feet year with pool and putting green but left the track outside for a while. Never leave it outside. Had it been one mini-96 track I would bring it in each time but 3 + of course I got lazy and the track gets weathered pretty fast outside.
